My deep passion for ancient Egyptian tomb painting on which most of these illustrations are based began during my first trip to Egypt in 1985 when I visited the private tombs on the West Bank of the Nile at Luxor. The paintings in these tombs, in most cases spoke of their owners lives an idealised version of what they had achieved in this life and they longed for in the next as well as the deep awareness the Egyptians held for their unique natural environment.
I have presented Art Reach programmes in schools on the subject of Animal Symbolism and had Solo exhibitions of my work in modern galleries, museums, art institutes, libraries and the Egyptian embassies in London and Washington DC., with lunchtime and a series of lectures on Tomb Painting from an Artist's perspective.
